The Certification Program in Sensate Focus touch consists of 9 one or two hour monthly online meetings. The program is structured around clinical and experiential learning that incorporates reading, didactic presentation, discussion, clinical demonstration and experiential practice.
Understand the Theory and Science Behind Sensate Focus: Explore the theoretical and biological foundations of Sensate Focus and how it addresses sexual blocks and challenges.
Effectively Explain Sensate Focus to Clients: Learn how to present the rationale and process in a way that encourages client engagement and follow-through.
Master the Updated Sensate Focus Protocol: Develop proficiency in the general sequence of touch suggestions and learn how to adapt them based on individual client goals, sexual difficulties, and interpersonal dynamics.
Address Common Challenges: Gain strategies for managing issues such as avoidance, pressure (self or partner-induced), and noncompliance, as well as creative solutions for complex cases.
Integrate Sensate Focus with Other Modalities: Discover how to incorporate adjunctive psychotherapeutic approaches (e.g., IFS, EMDR, Gottman, Imago, Emotion-Focused Therapy) to complement Sensate Focus techniques.
Guide Clients in Erotic Exploration: Learn how to create a Sensate Focus 2 program to help clients deepen their erotic connection with themselves and their partners.
