JOIN LINDA WEINER, AASECT Certified Diplomate in Sex Therapy and co-author OF SENSATE FOCUS IN SEX THERAPY: THE ILLUSTRATED MANUAL for this opportunity to gain greater confidence and demonstrate greater professional expertise in utilizing Sensate Focus touch with a variety of sexual concerns and a diversity of clients/patients.

The Certification Program in Sensate Focus touch consists of 12 one or two hour monthly online meetings. The program is structured around clinical and experiential learning that incorporates reading, didactic presentation, discussion, clinical demonstration and experiential practice.

The program aims to:

• Equip you with an understanding of the theoretical and biologic underpinnings of Sensate Focus Touch and why it works to both uncover and remediate sexual blocks and challenges
• Assist you in explaining the theory and process of Sensate Focus to clients/patients with the effect of generating greater “buy in” to carry out the at- home graduated series of touching suggestions
• Increase your proficiency in utilizing the updated general sequence of Sensate Focus touch suggestions and modify or add to the suggestions based on the sexual difficulty, the client/patient’s goals, their personal characteristics and interpersonal dynamics
• Prepare you to respond effectively to the various common problems likely to be encountered such as avoiding the touching suggestions, internal and/or partner pressure, going beyond suggestions, and presentation of innovative interventions when working with challenging clients/patients.
• Clarify for you when and how adjunctive psychotherapeutic interventions such as IFS, EMDR, Gottman, Imago, Emotion Focused and others are integrated with Sensate Focus touch
• Identify the next steps in creating a Sensate Focus 2 program in which the client/patient can come to share, explore and deepen their erotic connection to themselves and their partners

Recordings will be available for those who are unable to attend each session at the time offered.

12 AASECT CEs will be offered with successful completion of a quiz and an evaluation
